St. Mary Magdalene Homestead

St. Mary Magdalene Homestead, PA was founded in 1880, its 1892 church was marked for closure in 1992 as part of RC Diocese of Pittsburgh reorganization plan. The Bishop reconsidered, the closure was delayed. The challenge to raise $366,00 in 18 months was met so that this historic church could remain open as a witness to future generations of the amazing Catholic History of the historic Steel Valley. Once again, St. Mary's Church has been slated for closure and this is her story.
